Handcrafted on the Banks of the White River in Central Vermont
The Vermont Fly Box Company fly boxes are:
- Heirloom quality, rugged, lightweight (less than
4 ounces) and-they float!
- Handcrafted with only the highest quality hardware,
solid brass barrel hinges, rare earth magnets and replaceable
closed-cell ripple foam inserts.
- Finished with natural oil and our laser-engraved, distinctive
maple leaf & mayfly logo.
Vermont
Cherry - (Shown at right in photo)
Stunning, rich hue with good grain structure and figuring. Excellent
stability. Will darken with age to a warm medium / dark color.
Eastern Birdseye Maple - (Shown at left in photo)
Golden, lighter maple coloring with unique 'birdseye' grain and
knot structure. Rare - only 1% of all sugar maple cut is Birdseye.
Black Walnut - Striking, dark, exotic-looking wood with amazing
grain figuring.

Vermont Sugar Maple - Light maple, very hard and stable, good
grain figuring. This is the tree that maple syrup comes from.
Red Birch - The heartwood of yellow birch; handsome, rich, medium
color with interesting-often 'wavy'- grain structure.
Vermont Ash - Light colored, stable, attractive wood with straighter
grain structure and good variety of coloring.
